Work saved Emma Thompson from depression

British actress Emma Thompson has revealed she suffered from depression as her marriage to Kenneth Branagh fell apart but working on the screenplay of her film ‘Sense and Sensibility’ saved her from ‘going under’.
The ‘Nanny McPhee’ star divorced the actor in 1995, and was so affected by the break up she didn’t even want to change her clothes but Thompson insists concentrating on penning 1995s ‘Sense and Sensibility’ helped her overcome her depression, and she went on to marry actor Greg Wise, reports telegraph.co.uk.
‘Work saved me, and then Greg. He picked up the pieces. I was acting on stage in ‘Me and My Girl’. It was so bad that I got to the stage I wasn’t really changing my clothes at home. I remember that Ken had this black cashmere dressing gown and when he was not at home I simply wore it,’ she said.
‘It was a time when I couldn’t even answer the phone, yet I would go out every night to perform in the theatre and cheerfully sing the ‘Lambeth walk’. To help myself, the only thing I could do was to write, but I had to crawl to the computer. Writing ‘Sense and Sensibility’ saved me form going under in a very nasty way,’ she added.

List of Gerard Butler’s heartbreakers

Gerard Butler has revealed the names of women who have dumped him.
The actor first screamed out “Carol-Ann Nicole Clinton – b**ch!”, when comedian Jimmy Kimmel on late-night show asked the star if he had ever been dumped.
The girl had apparently ditched the ‘300′ star, during his teenage years.
“She flirted outrageously with me… always pretending that we were boyfriend/girlfriend, until I made my huge attraction to her clear – at which point she said, ‘I’m not the slightest bit interested,’ and it killed me,” the Daily Express quoted Butler as saying.
However it wasn’t the only name Butler revealed.
He added: “This girl, Julie Morrison…, was the one you’d end up round the back of the bike sheds with… I’ll never forget her walking up the stairs… and I said something to her and then I gave her a long, lingering look… and she looked at me and gave me these come-to-bed eyes.”
Caroline McLaughlin and Tracy Turner were the other names he disclosed.

“It’s something that has been very difficult, but I am getting a lot of help in dealing with it,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Travolta as saying.
He revealed that he regularly visits the church with his family.
He said: “My wife and I and my daughter – we’re all dealing with it as well as can be expected. We lean on our church heavily and they have helped us a lot.
“The nooks and crannies of it are our private situation, but we’re handling it. I think you learn that the most important thing is your family and your responsibility towards them and others.
“We’re in this as a group and all these wonderful things that we share together are not as important if we don’t take care of each other. We have to do that first and all the other stuff is icing n the cake.”

Just in a matter of days time after splitting from American footballer Reggie Bush she is reportedly planning to go on a date with British soccer player Wayne Bridge when she

Rielle Hunter's "The Slut Club" Document The Slut Club: Rielle Hunter has slept with 34 men and has their names written down, presumably.

It's pretty much a given that John Edwards is bankrolling Rielle Hunter's lawsuit against Andrew Young, the enabling ex-aide who would do anything for his boss — claim love child parentage, place bendy straws in diet Sprites — until he wouldn't. Did A John Edwards Aide Tape Him Cheating?
Andrew Young may or may not have stolen the oral sex tape, that certainly is up for debate. One thing is sure, the box of trash that he stumbled upon, or broke into a house to retrieve, is the Rielle Hunter sexual jackpot of sorts, containing photographs, medical bills and "The Slut Club" document, a handwritten list of 34 men's names. Rielle Hunter Gives Relationship Advice In GQ
Wonder what those men have in common?
Oh, let's just say it: Rielle Hunter has slept with 34 men and has their names written down, right? Never married and at 45 years of age, that breaks down to 1.17 sexual partners per year (if you assume sexual maturity at 16)... Just in case you wanted to know.
Anyway, if the list is what we think it is, and the case continues on as planned, theoretically some of those men could be called to court to testify... about her moral character, about when they were together, what have you. Can you even imagine?
Ladies, do you know where your sex list is?

Sarah Palin Says Barack Obama: Israel Is Our Friend Not Our Enemy Pal

Not since noted anti-Semite Jimmy Carter was President has our relationship with Israel been so strained. The Obama administration has been openly hostile to Israel since day one, while reaching out to our worst enemies in the Middle East.
While Obama and his minions scold Israel over the slightest of things, Iran, a nation that vows to wipe both Israel and the United States off the map, is developing nuclear weapons, and making more threats to the world. Obama has done nothing meaningful to stop this. He is impotent.
You know, speaking of Jimmy Carter, he has to be one happy guy these days. Not only is Barack Obama a bigger failure than Carter, domestically, no small feat BTW, he has also managed to turn America into a laughing stock around the world. Obama has done of this in record time too, far surpassing Jimmy Carter’s worthlessness. So, we are quite sure Carter is pleased that he will no longer be referred to as our worst President eveh.
With that said, Sarah Palin has always been a friend of Israel, and has been speaking out loudly in support of our ally. We wrote earlier that Sarah’s friendship with Israel was strong. You can read all about that, as well as comments from Caroline Glick from the Jerusalem Post, here.
Today Sarah issued a statement in support of our Jewish friends and sternly scolds Obama on his foreign policies:
Needed: A Reset with Israel The Obama Administration reaches out to some of the world’s worst regimes in the name of their engagement policy. America and our allies watch as sanctions are eased on Cuba. Letters are written to Iran’s mullahs only to see that regime start killing protestors in the streets of Tehran. Envoys are sent to North Korea as they continue to defy the world’s demand to give up their nuclear weapons.
The Burmese military junta’s representative is allowed to travel to our nation’s capital. The President’s envoy for Sudan talks about giving that genocidal regime “gold stars,” while the President shakes hands with Venezuela’s tyrannical leader. In the midst of all this embracing of enemies, where does the Obama Administration choose to escalate a minor incident into a major diplomatic confrontation? With Iran, Cuba, Sudan, North Korea or Burma? No. With our treasured ally, Israel.
Last October, Secretary of State Clinton recognized Israel’s desire for peace in the Middle East and praised Israel’s “unprecedented” concessions for agreeing to halt settlement construction in the West Bank, a concession that did NOT include halting construction of apartments for Jews in Jerusalem. Even last week after planned construction was announced, Vice President Biden still expressed “appreciation” for the “significant” steps taken by the Israeli government to address this minor issue.
Now, however, we see the Obama Administration has decided to escalate, make unilateral demands of Israel, and threaten the very foundation of the US-Israel relationship. This is quickly leading to the worst crisis in US-Israel relations in decades, and yet this did not have to happen. More importantly, it needs to stop before it spirals out of control. Vice President Biden should rein in the overheated Obama Administration rhetoric and chill the political spin masters’ fire as they visit the Sunday media shows to criticize Israel.
Once again, the Obama Administration is missing the boat on a very, very important issue. They need to go back to the basics and acknowledge Palestinian leaders have not progressed any peace process since President Obama was elected. As Israel makes concessions (and is still criticized by the Obama Administration),
Arab leaders are just sitting back waiting for the White House to further pressure Israel. The Obama Administration needs to open its eyes and recognize that it is only Iran and her terrorist allies that benefit from this manufactured Israeli controversy.
Vice President Biden was actually right when he said last week, before the construction announcement, that “one necessary precondition for progress is that the rest of the world knows…there is absolutely no space between the United States and Israel when it comes to security.” Right now, thanks to the Obama Administration, there is a chasm. It’s time for President Obama to push the reset button on our relations with our ally Israel.
-Sarah Palin
No truer words have been spoken. It is indeed time to reset our relationship with our ally, Israel, and develop reasonable foreign policy to combat our many enemies.

'Star Search' Finds Paula Abdul again?

Paula Abdul might once again be looking for new singing talent. The former "American Idol" judge is reportedly near to a deal to headline an updated version of "Star Search."
Sources tell Entertainment Weekly that the former Laker Girl could be doing double-duty as host and judge. An ABC rep refused to comment.
The network has been working toward getting Abdul involved in some capacity, with an initial (but failed) attempt to have her join "Dancing with the Stars." It isn't clear whether her potential "Star Search" gig would interfere with her possibly appearing as a judge on former colleague Simon Cowell's forthcoming US version of his UK monster hit, "The X Factor," slated to debut on FOX in the fall of 2011.
"I'm having the best time of my life right now," Abdul said after leaving "American Idol" last year. "I'm getting back to be that creative girl. I wore many hats, choreographer, doing that again, recording still. I'll always be mentoring young talent, but I'm acting, recurring role on 'Drop Dead Diva,' producing a new TV shows. I'm excited."
The original "Star Search" premiered in 1983 with host Ed McMahon, and was popular through the '80s and '90s. An attempt by CBS to revive it in 2003 with host Arsenio Hall didn't work out and the show was cancelled in 2004.

Lindsay Lohan sparks swine flu fears with "achey" tweet

Lindsay Lohan is said to have sparked fears she has contracted swine flu after she asked followers on Twitter.com about the symptoms of the illness, and adding that she was feeling “achey”.

Concerned fans immediately sent her a barrage of messages, and she in turn had to tell them that she did not say she had the virus and that she was going to the doctor for a check-up just in case.
“I never said I have it or anything, I was just reaching out to ask because everyone here may know different things about it,” she said.
Adding: “Isn’t this what Twitter is for? I don’t (know if I have it) and my doctor is coming now. I didn’t Google it b/c (because) this seemed more convenient.”

Kate Moss wears dresses made from mosquito nets for preventing Malaria

British supermodel Kate Moss wore a dress woven from recycled mosquito nets. The 36-year-old wore the strapless outfit designed by William Tempest to support Sport Relief 2010 and its commitment to tackling malaria.
The insecticide-treated mosquito net is one of the easiest and most cost-effective methods of preventing the spread of malaria.
Taking time out to promote the cause, Kate said: 'I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria in Africa every 30 seconds, that’s why I was happy to be involved in this important project for Sport Relief.
'William Tempest’s dress, which incorporates recycled malaria nets is absolutely gorgeous, I loved wearing it and working with William.
'It’s a great way of raising awareness of the seriousness of malaria, a disease which is both preventable and treatable.  Donating just £5 can pay for a net which helps protect from potentially fatal mosquito bites that spread malaria.'
William Tempest added: 'I’m really proud and excited to have designed a dress for Sport Relief with the serious message of highlighting the power of the humble mosquito net as a lifesaving tool against malaria.
'To help raise awareness about malaria I designed a structured dress which incorporates layers of a malaria net in panels. Kate looks amazing in the dress and I hope its auction will raise lots of money and bring awareness to such a great cause.'

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes has separated after seven-year itch

Oscar-winner actress, who is famous for Titanic, Kate Winslet and her filmmaker husband Sam Mendes, have separated after nearly seven years of marriage, their lawyers said here Monday.
The announcement of the split by London law firm Schilling came as something of a surprise following the pair’s portrayal as the ideal show business couple for many years.
Winslet, 34, who likes to refer to herself as ‘Kate from Reading’ – outside London – married the successful British filmmaker and stage director in a Caribbean wedding in 2003.
They have one son, Joe, 6, while Winslet has a daughter, Mia, from her first marriage to film director Jim Threapleton.
‘Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,’ said a statement by Schillings.
The split was ‘entirely amicable and by mutual agreement’ and both parties were fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.
Winslet began her career as a teenager in BBC television, but shot to international stardom with her role as Rose Dewitt Bukater in the 1997 blockbuster ‘Titanic’.
Last year she won an Oscar for Best Actress for her highly acclaimed lead role in the German postwar drama ‘The Reader’. Other films include ‘Enigma’, ‘Jude’ and ‘Hamlet’.
Mendes, 44, won a best director award for his movie ‘American Beauty’ in 2000. The pair worked together on his fourth film, ‘Revolutionary Road’, in 2008.
‘It was very exhilarating to finally work with my wife and I saw a side of her I just didn’t know,’ he said of the experience.

Kelly Preston asked Travolta to wear jeans to Oscars!

What a love! What a care! Hollywood star John Travolta’s actress-wife Kelly Preston asked him to wear jeans to the Oscars last week.
Preston insists the casual look the actor sported at last week’s Academy Awards was deliberate and she preferred it to the more formal suit he had originally planned to wear, reports fashion.ie.
‘I told him that he should do it. I thought it was really cool. He looked hot in the tux! It was an Armani tux. It always fits so well but I just thought jeans would be cool. He’s John Travolta. He canwear jeans with his tux,’ she said.
The actress insisted that, despite criticism of Travolta’s relaxed approach to red carpet wear, he also wore jeans to the premiere of his latest movie ‘From Paris With Love’. And she believes it is a look that could soon catch on.
‘All the men backstage were like, ‘Aw, man, I want to do that’. So who knows?’ she said

MIT researchers discover new energy source

It's so tiny, you can't see it with the naked eye.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have discovered an energy source that you can see only through a microscope.
The researchers devised a process for generating electricity using nanotechnology. They plan to refine the process in hopes of creating a new environmentally friendly battery, among other products.
It works like this: Researchers used tiny wires, known as carbon nanotubes, to create a powerful wave of energy, according to Michael Strano, and MIT associate professor of chemical engineering. He is also the senior author of a paper on this new phenomenon, published in this week's Nature Materials journal.
After coating these tiny wires with a layer of fuel, Strano said his team generated a so-called thermopower wave and stumbled across a reaction that may eventually be used to power electronics, computers and cell phones.
"This could lead to batteries that are up to 10 times smaller and still have the same power output. In the portable energy and energy conservation arena, we're trying to find power sources that have a smaller profile but hold more energy," Strano told CNN Radio.
To build a power source, such as a battery, it's necessary to move electrons in a material from one end of the battery to the other, creating an electrical current. This thermopower wave MIT researchers discovered, using the class of molecules know as carbon nanotubes, does just that.
Strano said "some of the advantages of this technology [are] you can generate a lot of power from a very, very small device."
And that's not all. Most batteries on the market now are made from highly toxic heavy metals, which are very bad for the environment -- metals like lead, nickel and cadmium.
Batteries made from this new thermopower technology would be completely nontoxic, Strano said.
"The materials we use to make these thermopower waves are organic. They're not grown naturally, but they're made of carbon. In other words, you could essentially incinerate them, or they would degrade over time, there's no heavy metal residue," Strano said.
There's another potential benefit in using a so-called thermopower battery: energy savings.
"Most people don't realize a battery sitting unused in your laptop is leaking its power away," Strano said. "If you take all the laptop batteries that are produced in one year, in the off state, they're leaking an amount of power during that year that we could store in a small nuclear reactor ... and that's power that's essentially lost and dissipated just from laptop batteries."

Petre Andre considered suicide after Price divorce

Australian pop star Peter Andre considered suicide after his split from glamour model Katie Price last year because the couple's acrimonious break-up left him suffering panic attacks.

According to reports, the pair married in 2005 and became parents to two children, Junior and Princess Tiaamii, as well as Price's son Harvey from a previous relationship.

They divorced in September last year but the split led to a bitter war of words between the former couple in the press.

Andre admits he suffered crippling panic attacks after their relationship ended, and even considered taking his own life following one terrifying episode but the thought of his children saved him from the desperate act.

"I woke up at 3am and I felt a hammering in my head. I started panicking and hyperventilating, my hands were sweating and I thought my heart was going to pop out of my body," Andre said.

"You think you're having a heart attack. No matter how many times you've had it, every time you think, this is it, I'm going to die," he said.

"Did I think about ending my life? You can have thoughts like that and I'm not going to lie, there were times when it was so bad that I thought, 'Am I better off?' But you have to look at what's around you. My family were my entire life and that's what stopped me," Andre said.

Irish Popstar shakira is very popular all over the world and wants to lead a very smart life. But due to her profession she had to lead a nomad's life. She has difficulties settling down in one place as she is used to being constantly on the move like a "gypsy" due to her work commitments.

The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker, who is engaged to lawyer Antonio de la Rua, is forced to live a nomad's life due to the nature of her profession, reported Contactmusic. "It's how I live my life, like a nomad. Ever since I became famous, I'm constantly travelling, which is great as I get to see so many different cultures and traditions. But I definitely live like a gypsy!" said Shakira.

The 33-year-old singer asked tennis champion Rafael Nadal to star alongside her in her latest video 'Gypsy' because he can relate to her travelling lifestyle.

"I wanted someone I identified with and knew what it was like to constantly travel the world. Nadal is like me, he started his career young, has fought battles and moves around from place to place. Also it helps that he is good-looking as that makes it nicer for me," said the singer.

'American Idol', Fight is now between 12 finalists

After a long fight it reduces the number of fighters, but not the intensity of the fight. In American Idol, among so much Competitor they fought a lot, And then there were 12 on "American Idol."
After the audience voted, the singing contest said goodbye Thursday to Alex Lambert of North Richland Hills, Texas; Todrick Hall of Arlington, Texas; Lilly Scott of Littleton, Colo. and Katelyn Epperly of West Des Moines, Iowa.
It was no surprise that the judge's favorite from previous weeks, Michael "Big Mike" Lynche, made the cut.
Lynche dazzled the judges with his performance of "This Woman's Work" and made judge Kara DioGuardi dissolve into tears.
Lambert, who had trouble overcoming his shyness on stage, looked downcast when he learned his fate.
"There's a lot of things America hasn't seen me do yet," he said, adding, "I wish could just have broken out of my shell."
Judge Ellen DeGeneres gave him a verbal pat on the back.
"You're so good. Don't ever stop believing in yourself," she told him.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the evening was the audience's rejection of Scott. Before the decision was announced, host Ryan Seacrest stood with Scott and Katie Stevens on stage and asked the judges to weigh in on the fact that one of them would be heading home.
DioGuardi, who had championed both singers, said she found it striking that it came down to these two. She said Scott was someone who understood herself as an artist and Stevens was struggling to do that, but had the advantage of being more contemporary.
"I thought I did really well. I put my heart into every performance," Scott said. "I just know there's an audience out there for me."
Judge Randy Jackson liked Hall's performance of "Somebody to Love," while Cowell said it was a mixed performance.
"This has been an awesome experience. I came here to prove that I'm not just a dancer, I can also sing. I think that I've done that," said the 24-year-old Hall.
He got some encouragement from Jackson, who said, "Fantastic, dude."
DioGuardi criticized Epperly for "going through the motions" on her version of "I Feel the Earth Move" this week. Cowell compared her performance to request night at a restaurant, but added that he did like her full, curly locks that evoked the song's composer, Carole King.
"I'm not stopping now. It's just a push actually, for me. I'll do more stuff," Epperly said.

Nude Picture of Barack Obama

Can you imagine, Barack Obama, The president of USA is lying nude infront of you? Is it possible? what do you think? But yes, it's true.
In October, 2007 a nude picture of Barack Obama was published on cover of Radar Magazine.

Radar posted the cover on their website with an explanation..
“Candidates have become as manufactured as movie stars: coached on every aspect of their dress and demeanor, and supplied with perky sound-bites for spontaneous delivery on Letterman. Which is why, as we set out to plan the cover of Radar’s Politics issue, it seemed appropriate to do a little facile packaging of our own.
What better way to underline the ego, excess, and artifice that dominate modern politics than to borrow a page from Vanity Fair’s now-notorious 2006 Hollywood issue, which starred Tom Ford, Keira Knightley, and Scarlett Johansson in various states of undress?”
Though  it was a fake magazine cover, but it was published and its true.

Winners of 82nd Academy Award (Oscar), you can also know

82nd Academy Awards is knocking at the door. But do you know who will win the award? Yes I know and you can also know if you want. How?
Its my own imagination. It may be true or not. But I can bet on it. I shall tell who will win, and why he/she will win. Then you will judge.
Best Picture

Nominees: Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Precious, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air

Who Will Win:
The Hurt Locker

Who Should Win: Inglourious Basterds

Why:
Only three films have a legitimate chance of winning Best Picture: Avatar, The Hurt Locker, and Inglourious Basterds. But because Avatar’s mastermind, James Cameron, and Inglourious Basterds' writer/director, Quentin Tarantino, and distributor Harvey Weinstein are all hated by hordes of Academy voters, the Kathryn Bigelow-directed war drama will take home the evening’s top prize.

Best Director

Nominees:
James Cameron (Avatar), Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds), Lee Daniels (Precious), Jason Reitman (Up in the Air)

Who Will Win: Kathryn Bigelow

Who Should Win: Kathryn Bigelow

Why: Bigelow’s meticulous and mesmerizing work, accompanied by her Directors Guild victory, will result in history being made as the Academy finally honors its first-ever female Best Director winner.

Best Actress

Nominees:
Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side), Helen Mirren (The Last Station), Carey Mulligan (An Education), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious), Meryl Streep (Julie & Julia)

Who Will Win: Sandra Bullock

Who Should Win: Carey Mulligan

Why: Newbies Carey Mulligan and Gabourey Sidibe would both have had a great shot at taking home gold had they been nominated in different years; but they weren’t, and as a result, they’ll cancel each other out. Helen Mirren, on the other hand, never had a shot. She got her trophy a few years ago for her role in The Queen. Oh, and nobody saw The Last Station. So, we’re down to first-time nominee Sandra Bullock and sixteen-time nominee and two-time winner Meryl Streep. In the closest race of the evening, Sandra will edge out Meryl for two reasons: she’ll probably never receive another nom, and Meryl will be back in the mix again next year.

Best Actor

Nominees: Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart), George Clooney (Up in the Air), Colin Firth (A Single Man), Morgan Freeman (Invictus), Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker)

Who Will Win:
Jeff Bridges

Who Should Win:
Colin Firth

Why: Despite Firth's heartbreaking performance and Clooney’s award-worthy work, Bridges will have to make room on his crowded mantle for his very first Oscar. Voters love him; he’s won every major award leading up to Sunday; and with four previous noms, everyone feels that it’s simply his turn to take home the trophy.
Best Supporting Actress

Nominees: Penelope Cruz (Nine), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Crazy Heart), Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air), Mo’Nique (Precious)

Who Will Win: Mo’Nique

Who Should Win: Mo’Nique

Why:
With Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick splitting the vote and Penelope Cruz out of contention, it comes down to first-time nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal and fellow newcomer Mo'Nique. While a few critics think Mo’Nique’s polarizing personality could hurt her chances coming down the home stretch, there's really no doubt in my mind that she’ll emerge victorious and deliver a mag'nifique acceptance speech come Sunday.

Best Supporting Actor

Nominees:
Matt Damon (Invictus), Woody Harrelson (The Messenger), Christopher Plummer (The Last Station), Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones), Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds)

Who Will Win:
Christoph Waltz

Who Should Win:
Christoph Waltz

Why: Let's be honest: Christoph Waltz gave one of the best supporting performances in recent memory. And with minimal competition from his fellow nominees, the 53-year-old Austrian actor will easily waltz away with his first, much-deserved Oscar.

Best Original Screenplay

Nominess: The Hurt Locker (Mark Boal), Inglourious Basterds (Quentin Tarantino), The Messenger (Alessandro Camon and Oren Moverman), A Serious Man (Joel Coen and Ethan Coen), Up (Bob Peterson and Pete Docter)

Who Will Win:
The Hurt Locker

Who Should Win: Inglourious Basterds

Why: Basterds could give Locker a run for its money, but Mark Boal will triumph over Quentin Tarantino and the equally deserving Coen brothers. Best Pic nominee Up doesn’t have a shot; and The Messenger’s nomination was a victory in and of itself.

Best Adapted Screenplay

Nominess:
District 9 (Neill Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell), An Education (Nick Hornby), In the Loop (Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci, Tony Roche), Precious (Geoffrey Fletcher), Up in the Air (Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner)

Who Will Win:
Up in the Air

Who Should Win:
An Education

Why: In an effort to prevent Up in the Air from being shut out on Oscar night (which could very well happen), Academy voters will likely award Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner for their timely script … unless they hand they statue to Nick Hornby, prohibiting An Education from also going home empty-handed.

Best Animated Feature

Nominess: Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Princess and the Frog, The Secret of Kells, Up

Who Will Win:
Up

Who Should Win: Fantastic Mr. Fox

Why: Not only is Up a fan favorite, a critical darling, and a box-office behemoth, it’s also only the second animated film in history to be up for Best Picture. As a result, it’s guaranteed to topple the four other films, giving Pixar its third consecutive win in the category, following in the footsteps of WALL-E and Ratatouille.

Best Documentary Feature

Nominess: Burma VJ; The Cove; Food, Inc.; The Most Dangerous Man in America; Which Way Home

Who Will Win:
The Cove

Who Should Win: Food, Inc.

Why: Despite the fact that Food, Inc. was the most fascinating film of 2009, bet on The Cove to bag the Oscar. The tragic dolphin-hunting doc has swept the pre-Oscar soirees, and its producers have been campaigning harder than just about everyone in Hollywood, except for Harvey Weinstein and that guy who tried to trash Avatar’s Best Pic chances.
