Pattinson found sex scenes with Thurman ‘disturbing’

“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson has revealed he found his sex scenes with Uma Thurman in new movie “Bel Ami” “disturbing” because her character uses sex as a “weapon”.
The actor gets steamy with the screen beauty in the film in which he plays Parisian journalist Georges Duroy, but insists it was far from erotic because of the movie’s plot, reports gossipblender.com.
“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character Madeleine kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal. There are a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I’m asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well,” he said.
The movie is a big screen adaptation of French author Guy de Maupassant’s 19th Century novel “Bel Ami” in which an ambitious young Duroy sleeps his way to the top.
Film fans may also see Pattinson get steamy with Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas, who also star in the movie.

We are not ending our relationship: Jolie, Pitt

Putting break-up rumours to rest, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie put on a public display of affection at the Super Bowl American football final and have also issued a legal statement insisting they have no intention of ending their relationship.
Lawyers for the couple today said they are not about to split and would consider suing any media outlets that continue publishing the ‘false allegations’.
Dailymail.co.uk reports that the legal move follows weeks of speculation about their five-year relationship, with reports suggesting they have signed legal papers over their about $320 million fortune and custody of their six children.
Jolie, 34, and Pitt, 46, have previously ignored growing rumours that all is not well in their relationship.
Their public denial comes just hours after the Hollywood couple brought their eldest son Maddox, 8, to watch the New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Sunday.
During the game, the couple were seen kissing, hugging and laughing together as they cheered on the Saints’ dramatic victory which provided such an emotional moment for the city of New Orleans, devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
As they watched the game, the two gave photographers plenty to watch as they cuddled up for the cameras.
With Jolie dressed down in her signature black, the couple hoped to make a low-key entrance as they dashed through the stadium to take their seats for the big game.
It was the first time they’d been pictured together in over a month - after last being photographed out dining in New York on Jan 6.
Pitt and Jolie both attended the Directors Guild of America Awards over a week ago, but arrived separately and declined to be photographed together.
While not known for their huge interest in American football, Pitt and Jolie are big supporters of New Orleans and own a $3.5 million 1830s house in the historic Louisiana city.

Taylor Swift wants tall, fun boyfriend

Teenage singing sensation Taylor Swift says she is looking for a tall and humorous person after her break up with Twilight star Taylor Lautner.
Though sources blamed the split on a lack of “chemistry”, Swift, who is five feet eleven inches, hints a height difference behind the break-up with Lautner, who is just five feet six, reports starpulse.com.
The bad thing about being tall is the majority of people are at a different eye level than you and so you feel like you are looking down to talk to people, which is kind of unnatural and they have to look way up to talk to you, said Swift.
She also wants the guy to be someone who can make her laugh.
Somebody who has a compatible sense of humour with me would be the most important thing in my man, said Swift.

‘My Name Is Khan’ will entertain, not make statement: Shah Rukh (Interview)

It has some religion, a bit of politics and it’s set in the backdrop of a world shaking event, but for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan his latest venture is not so much about Islam post-9/11 as it is entertainment.
‘The film is mainly entertainment,’ Shah Rukh said in a lengthy interview with IANS over the phone from New York on a trip last week to promote his new film, ‘My Name Is Khan’ (MNIK), releasing in the US Feb 12.
‘If some issue is taken back home, I always tell people if they can take back a little more than an empty pack of popcorn, that’s interesting…that’s an added advantage to an entertaining film.’
Shah Rukh, who plays a Muslim Indian with Asperger’s syndrome living in the US, finding his marriage to a Hindu single mother (played by Kajol) crumbling post-9/11, wouldn’t agree that it’s the Islam angle that is grabbing the most attention in the US.
‘A film normally deals with lots of issues, comedy, or it’s a tragedy or a serious film or a dramatic love story like ‘…Khan’ is meant to be,’ he said. ‘If one starts talking or deciding on issues before a whole film is seen, it’s kinda not right to do, specially as a filmmaker.
‘Normally, a film is more than the sum of its parts. It’s not like it’s a love story, it’s got a Karan Johar touch to social cinema, it has an angle of religion, it also has a part of politics, it has a world-shaking incident as a backdrop, it also has a lot of sweet songs. It combines all that.
‘To me as a filmmaker, or part of a film, any aspect of the film can only be decided once one has seen the whole film. But there’s no denying that there is an aspect of religion in the film.’
Nor would Shah Rukh look at this and other recent Bollywood films about the fate of Indian Muslims in the US post-9/11 as an effort to redress any negative images people may have formed about Islam over the last nine years.
‘Films normally are for entertainment. One doesn’t really make a conscious decision to make a statement with it. Within entertainment, if a statement gets made, it’s really nice for a filmmaker.
‘You know, maybe ‘3 Idiots’ talks about education, but it’s an entertaining film. Similarly ‘Chak De! India’ talks about patriotism, but it’s a sports film.
‘You can have issues related in a film, but when filmmakers of commercial proportions like Karan, myself and Kajol and all get together, it’s not to highlight an issue because it’s too expensive as a commercial venture to make a film about an issue and not entertain.’
To Shah Rukh, ‘the most interesting part of the fact as an actor is that I’m playing a character who’s got Asperger’s. It’s also not in any which way to show it in a light which is not nice…but for an actor that’s a great thing to do, you know, to play a (person with a) disorder like this which very few people know about.’
‘Hopefully, I’ll be able to convince people about it when they see (the film). I don’t think at least commercial filmmakers from India really make a big-time film which is localised or even localised by an international issue,’ he said.
‘Commercial we will only know once the film releases,’ said Shah Rukh when asked if MNIK isn’t one of Karan Johar’s least commercial offerings so far.
‘…Yes, the only thing it has amiss is big set dance pieces, but we just felt with the disorder we were dealing with, it would look very unrealistic for the character Rizwan Khan to indulge in dancing of the order of we normally see in a Hindi film of Karan’s, or you might have seen earlier.
‘Except for that, I think the venture is extremely commercial,’ he said.
‘In the last five years, there’s a whole paradigm shift as to what people accept as a commercial film,’ Shah Rukh said describing it as ‘Karan’s evolution from making and keeping up with the trends of new commercial cinema in India and elsewhere’.
On professional challenges he faced during its filming, Shah Rukh said it was a ‘very difficult’ character to play. ‘If I was to just put it simply, it’s very seldom that I’ve really gone ahead and played a character which exists in real life.
‘And whenever you’re dealing with a disorder or a near…atypical situation, the first thought is that the sort of parameters you have to set that in no which way you are derogatory or deriding the disorder.
‘You have to make the protagonist very proud of what it is. The second part is you have to come as close to reality in depicting that characterisation and so one had to study a lot and one does get worried…’
But a couple of people affected with the same disorder who were shown the film had told them ‘…it’s a great portrayal, it’s very close to someone with this kind of disorder’.
‘Of course, having said that, I have taken a few cinematic liberties with it, because I’ve used three or four traits which may not exist simultaneously in one person and tried to create one character who has Asperger’s, called Rizwan Khan.’

Kelly Preston is a hot fox: Robin Williams

Known for his witty and wicked remarks, Hollywood funnyman Robin Williams was in awe of actress Kelly Preston’s beauty, so much so that he describes her as a ‘hot fox’.
‘Fox. She (Preston, 47) is hot. Hot,’ said Williams. ‘But a wonderful woman, too. But sweet and once again like a comedienne who’s not afraid to try anything. And that’s cool. That’s nice when you have someone that way,’ he added in a media interaction conducted via email.
He had teamed up with Preston for comedy ‘Old Dogs’.
Williams was also gaga over Preston’s star husband John Travolta and his friend of ‘thirty years’ - who also stars in the movie.
‘John is just like the closest thing to a human panda I think you’ll ever get. You know, just huggable. Constantly just tactile, like, ‘Get over here. Try this’. And I was like, ‘Damn man. You’re the brother I never had.’ It was kind of wonderful,’ he said.
Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, the 88-minute comedy has been directed by Walt Becker. The film, which released in the US Nov 25 last year, released here Friday.
Apart from Williams, Travolta and Preston, it also stars debutante Ella Bleu Travolta, Seth Green, Justin Long, Lori Loughlin and Matt Dillon.
The story revolves around two best friends (Williams and Travolta) who have their lives turned upside when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of seven-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives.
Williams who is famous for his comedy quotient guarantees unlimited laughter with the movie.
‘(It’s a) comedy and take home comedy. The trailer only has a couple of gags in it, which is wonderful because there is a lot of stuff that we couldn’t put in the trailer, obviously, because it’s a PG trailer, you can’t put it in. There’s more,’ he said.
The actor also promises a message with the outing.
‘The idea that I kind of learned after a long time. You don’t have to work so hard. You can take it easy and kind of enjoy this, ‘because they (your kids) are not young for long. (They are) much like sea monkeys, they’re gone,’ he said.
‘They grow really quick. But when they’re that age, seven, about from six to about 10, there’s kind of like the golden age. It’s kind of like you are something special to them, and then around 12 it’s like not as much. There’s something really special about that age, which is kind of wonderful,’ he added.
The 58-year-old who underwent heart surgery last year is also thankful for getting a second chance.
‘Being alive! After heart surgery, you really kind of dig that part. Breath. After coming through all that and you just (survive), it’s pretty amazing. Just to have a second shot is like, ‘Thank You’ pretty great,’ he said.

The ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker said that she did “bags and bags” of cocaine, getting inspired by rock stars.

She added: “My cocaine soundtrack was always the Cure. I would lock myself in my room and listen to Never Enough on repeat while I did bags and bags of cocaine.
“It was about being an artist. I wasn’t a lazy addict. I would make demo tapes and send them around. At the time I didn’t think there was anything wrong with me, until my friends said, ‘Are you doing this alone?’ Um, yes. Me and my mirror.”
However, the singer wanted to fulfill her dead aunts’ dream, which pushed her to quit drugs.

Wasim Akram teaches Akshay Kumar to throw a fast one!

‘Patiala House’ which Akshay Kumar is currently shooting at Film City will shortly move to the outdoors of London, and with good reason.
Akshay Kumar plays a cricketer from London. A bowler to be more precise. The cricket sequences, according to director Nikhil Advani, will be shot at the best and biggest stadiums of London.
Says the director, “Akshay will be shown playing at the World Cup. He better look professional doing the bowling. We will shoot the cricket match at the Lords and Oval cricket grounds in London.”
Permission for these have been obtained months in advance. And to train Akshay for his bowling the director has the world’s greatest living fast bowler Wasim Akram. Akshay has met Wasim Akram. The two start training shortly.
Wasim, currently mourning his wife’s sudden death, has been roped in after much persuasion.
Says Nikhil, “It wasn’t easy to convince Wasim. But we were adamant that Akshay would play a world-class cricketer and that too a bowler. We’ve never had a hero who’s a bowler. They are always batting on the cricket field. There’s almost a ballet-like choreographic precision when a hero is captured bowling on camera. I think bowling is a far more intricate exercise than batting.”
Akshay intends to devote considerable time with Wasim Akram as soon his back injury is healed. A lot of other retired and active cricketers including Imran Khan are being roped in to make appearances with Akshay in ‘Patiala House’.
Informs Nikhil, “A substantial part of our budget is going into hiring these cricketers for the climax game. We want the game to look as real as it can get.”
Interestingly the climactic cricket game in David Dhawan’s ‘Hook Ya Crook’ has been delayed. Though it started two years after David’s film ‘Patiala House’ may complete its shooting and release before ‘Hook Ya Crook’.
John Abraham will have to wait to show his batting skills to the audience. Bowler Akshay ‘maidaan maar gaya’.

“I thought it was Photoshopped, you know? And then I realized that I was just letting myself go.
“I went through a lot of things and I definitely say that those things contributed to my weight gaining for sure,” he added.
However, he credits his two sons with Spears - Sean, 5, and Jayden, 4 - for helping him get back into shape.
“It was easier to eat more when they were younger because they weren’t as active,” said the former dancer, who admits to barely being able to make it up the hill on the side of his house while at his heaviest weight,” he said.

A representative for American rapper Eminem has denied reports that the singer and his ex-wife are expecting a baby.
Rumours that Eminem and ex-wife Kim Mathers had reconciled and were planning on having a baby together had surfaced at the start of the week, leading his rep to blast the rumours as being unreliable.
“Contrary to false rumours spread by unreliable tabloids, Marshall and Kim Mathers are not romantically reunited in any way, nor are they expecting a child together,” the Daily Express quoted the rep as saying.
“They are a divorced couple who share custody of their daughter and maintain a friendly relationship,” the rep added.

I feel like a 23-year-old says Abhishek Bachchan on his 34th birthday

Abhishek who turns 34 on today doesn’t feel his age at all. “Am I really 34? I feel I’m 23. That’s the age that I came into movies. I feel the same anxiety and excitement facing the camera this birthday for Abhinay Deo’s film as I did for J.P Dutta Saab on my 23rd birthday.”
The year begins with the shooting of Abhinay Deo’s film and ends with Prabhu Deva’s film, a first for Abhishek since it would be his first full-fledged action flick.
“I’ve done action films like ‘Zameen’, ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Run’. But nothing like what Prabhu has planned for me,” says Abhishek excitedly. “Yeah it’s a wonderful year. And I better make sure I don’t let my family myself and my audience down.”
This has got to be Abhishek Bachchan’s busiest year ever. He’s just wrapped up Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ and is in the process of wrapping up Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se’. He’s now shooting for Abhinay Deo’s film tentatively titled ‘Crooked’. Abhishek then turns to Tarun Mansukhani’s ‘Dostana 2’, followed by films with Rohan Sippy, Abbas-Mustan, Anees Bazmee, Neeraj Pathak and Prabhu Deva…all to be released, shot or completed before the year is through.
Phew! So has Abhishek turned into a certifiable workaholic? Even on his birthday on Friday Abhishek was shooting. And his birthday was brought in on the sets of ‘Crooked’. “What to do? If I can’t be with my immediately family for my birthday I can at least be with my extended family on the sets. I’m shooting round-the-clock. It’s not a time when I can afford to be lackadaisical. Not when I’ve done television for the first time and discovered a terrific connectivity with the audience. The response to my tv show ‘Bingo’ has been overwhelming”
His television debut has boosted Abhishek’s confidence. “I want to dedicate my 34th year to consolidating my career as an actor and building my rapport with the audience. I know I’ve the most exciting range of directors and assignments this year.” The last year Abhishek had a thinner work-load. He was shooting ‘Raavan’ through most of the year. “And for a Mani Ratnam film giving up the experience of doing a variety of other roles is definitely worth the while. 2010 is relatively crowded with no space. And I’m enjoying every bit of it,” says Abhishek emotionally.
Today Abhishek feels he is more equipped to face the camera than before. “I remember shooting with JP Saab for my debut ‘Refugee’ when I was 23. I was so raw and inexperienced. Today I’m in a position to contribute actively to the process of making the films that I am in. And I do. If I am not comfortable enough with a director to participate in the process of creating a film I’m working in, then I won’t work with him.”
After doing a serious bone-cruncher with Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva is all set to direct Abhishek Bachchan in an out-and-out action film. The film will have the kind of stunts Abhishek or for that matter any other Bollywood actor, has never done. The preparations are on. But Abhishek isn’t talking about them.
He’d rather talk about his 34th birthday on Friday.
“Every year I try to make sure I’m working on my birthday. I don’t know why. But to me shooting on my birthday is very comforting. Of course I love spending the day with my family. And as soon I pack up on Friday evening I’m rushing home to be with my parents and wife. But it wouldn’t be a happy birthday for me if I’m not working. Every year since I started my career in 1998 I’ve made sure that I’m shooting. I remember I was shooting with J P Dutta Saab on my 23rd birthday. Only last year I missed shooting on my birthday because I was in New York promoting ‘Delhi 6’. I hope to continue working on all my birthdays.”

Kim Kardashian gets restraining order against ‘Joker Face’ stalker

Kim Kardashian has got a restraining order against an alleged stalker.
According to E!Online.com, a judge has ordered Georgia-native Dennis Shaun Bowman to stay at least 500 yards away from the socialite.
“Mr. Bowman willingly entered into a written agreement to stay away from Ms. Kardashian,” the New York Daily News quoted Kadarshian’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, as saying.
He added: “This morning’s court order simply enforces the agreement between the parties.”
Bowman had allegedly surfaced, during many of the reality star’s appearances in Los Angeles, dressed like Heath Ledger’s Joker character from “The Dark Knight.”
Last month, TMZ.com reported that the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star had won a temporary restraining order against the alleged “Joker Face” stalker.
Now, the new ruling extends the order and prohibits Bowman from contacting Kardashian in any way, including social networking sites, until 2013.
Also, he’s not allowed to posess any firearms, E! reports.
Meanwhile, Kadarshian has flown to Florida to support boyfriend/New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, who will play in Super Bowl this week.

Foxx insists Jessica Biel, Garner are next best comic duo after Laverne and Shirley

Stand-up comedian Jamie Foxx has revealed that he finds actresses Jessica Biel and Jennifer Garner to be the next best comic duo after comedy characters Laverne and Shirley.

Laverne and Shirley is an American television situation comedy that ran on ABC from 1976 to 1983, starring Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams.
Foxx, 42, who co-stars with Biel, 27, and Garner, 37, in new movie ‘Valentine’s Day’, said that he found their off-screen chemistry reminded him of Marshall and Williams’ role in the TV show.
The actor is so convinced Biel and Garner are destined to make a comedy together, that he even told director Garry Marshall about it.
“During the movie, they were doing stuff off-screen that reminded me of Laverne and Shirley. I think they’re the new Laverne and Shirley,” the Daily Star quoted Foxx as saying.
“They had some energy, and I mentioned that to Garry Marshall,” he added.

MJ’s family furious over ‘lenient’ charge against Murray

Late singer Michael Jackson’s family has shown its discontent over charging his doctor Conrad Murray with involuntary manslaughter.
Sister La Toya, 53 hit back and said the charge against Murray is too lenient.
“He should be facing a murder rap. He should have been charged with premeditated,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.
Murray, 58, who is facing four years in jail, told detectives he had given the 50-year-old singer the general anaesthetic propofol and two other sedatives to help him sleep.
Meanwhile, a lawyer for Murray, who has repeatedly denied any wrong doing, said the physician will turn himself in if charged.
“We are prepared for whatever occurs. We have time to meet and strategise for possible scenarios, but in reality we’ve had eight months to do that,” said attorney Ed Chernoff.

Madonna invests £937K in coconut water manufacturing firm

Queen of pop Madonna has invested 937,000 pounds in a coconut water manufacturing firm after she fell in love with the drink during her Sticky ` Sweet world tour.
Madonna, 51, along with her manager Guy Oseary, snapped up shares of New York-based company Vita Coco, which sells the latest trendy beverage across the U.S.
And they are so taken with the juice made from young, green coconuts that they have rounded up stars including Matthew McConaughey, Demi Moore, and Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis to maker smaller investments.
Madge, who is famed for her strict healthy lifestyle, reportedly made the coconut juice her favourite thirst-quencher while performing on her tour last year, and she was keen to get involved with the brand before it hit the mainstream.
“The fact that (the manufacturers) are saying no to everyone who wants them is pretty cool. You want to go to the party that no one else is invited to,” the Daily Star quoted Oseary as saying.

Russell Brand wants to marry girlfriend/singer Katy Perry naked.
The comedian joked that he would even like the guests to come in the buff.
“We are going to do the wedding naked! All the families will be naked!” Sydney Morning Herald quoted him as telling People magazine.
He added: “We’re still deciding what to do. There’s no juicy details yet. All my dream weddings don’t make sense.
“The vicar will start melting. The people in the front row will turn into people from my school. And then everyone will only say the word ‘potato’.”
However, Brand is looking forward to walking down the aisle with Perry.

Kim Cattrall blames busy schedule for break-up

‘Sex and the City’ star Kim Cattrall has revealed that the reason for her break-up with chef Alan Wyse was her busy work schedule.

Cattrall, 53, who had split from the Canadian cook last year after a five-year romance, and who had been married three times, is still hopeful of finding someone she will settle down with forever.
“It’s very hard for someone not involved in this business to really understand what it’s about. You work 12-hour days, and something like a series literally consumes your life,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.
“I think its just time not there, really. But I’m still hopeful that I’ll meet someone,” she added.

Colin Firth believes homosexual actors risk losing work

Actor Colin Firth believes homosexual actors risk not being cast if they declare themselves.
The Bridget Jones’s Diary star, who plays the role of George Falconer, a homosexual college professor, in A Single Man, revealed there were still “invisible boundaries” set for gay artists.
“There might be risks for a gay actor coming out. The politics of that are quite complex, it seems to me,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying at the film’s UK premiere in London.
“If you’re known as a straight guy, playing a gay role, you get rewarded for that. If you’re a gay man and you want to play a straight role, you don’t get cast - and if a gay man wants to play a gay role now, you don’t get cast.
“I think it needs to be addressed and I feel complicit in the problem. I don’t mean to be. I think we should all be allowed to play whoever - but I think there are still some invisible boundaries which are still uncrossable,” he added.

Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga had an affair?

If rumours are to be believed, then Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie had an affair with singer Lady Gaga.

According to Ian Halperin, author of the recent bestseller Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the ‘Tomb Raider’ star might have cheated on partner Brad Pitt with GaGa.
Jolie - who is openly bisexual - and GaGa - a rumoured hermaphrodite - had a secret rendezvous at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel that lasted all night, Halperin alleges.
Jolie is reportedly ‘obsessed’ with Gaga, reports the China Daily.
It’s not the first time Jolie has been accused of cheating on Pitt.
Earlier this week, In Touch Weekly magazine spoke to a housekeeper who worked extensively with the family on their numerous visits to the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
Anna Kowalski claimed that the actress had a series of steamy sex sessions with one of the dialect coaches she worked with on the set of her movie ‘Salt’.

Drew Barrymore’s rep brushes off engagement reports

Drew Barrymore’s rep has dismissed reports that the actress is engaged to on/off lover Justin Long.

However, Barrymore’s spokesperson insists the He’s Just Not That Into You co-stars are not set to be wed, telling E! News the reports are “not true”.

Jolie’s signature shows signs of "stress", says expert

As rumours of Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie breaking-up picks momentum, a handwriting expert has said that an autograph the actress recently gave a fan shows she is under stress.
The couple appeared more affectionate than usual at the Directors Guild of America Awards on January 30, but expert Sheila Lowe has revealed that the long extended final stroke of Jolie’s last name in the autograph “can add up to feeling pressured, with a need to protect oneself”.
“Hers has always been an extremely simplified signature, and this one is even more so. It’s like shorthand. It could be a result of stress, the need to keep things on the surface and simple,” Us magazine quoted Lowe as saying.
“The extremely long, rightward ending stroke is symbolic of holding others at bay. Think of an outstretched arm: Stand back!” she said, adding that signatures can be more difficult to decipher when written quickly.
Similarly, Patti Stanger of Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker, recently said that Jolie “shows possessiveness and a desire not to lose Brad…but defensive [body language] in case she does”.
Bart Baggett, creator of the Handwriting Wizard, says Jolie’s signature has “large beginning letters, which indicates confidence and a healthy ego”.
He compared her signature to one from 2006, toward the beginning of her relationship with Pitt.
“She has learned the art of compromise and has more humility than before,” he said.
“The angles, the analytical, masculine qualities are less. She has more feminine, supportive handwriting.
“It is more of a mother trait than a demise in the relationship. Her ego is still strong,” Baggett added.
