Sir Elton John to perform at archaeological site of Chichen Itza in Mexico

British singer Sir Elton John is set to perform at the archaeological site of Chichen Itza in Mexico later this year.

John, 62, who will be taking to the stage at the Mayan ruins on April 3, will be following in the footsteps of opera greats Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo, reports the Daily Express.
The Rocket Man will be singing in the same spot as Pavarotti did in 1997 and Domingo in 2008.
The concert had earlier not been confirmed, due to the recent excavations at the foot of El Castillo, but now Yucatan state officials have said the show will go on as planned as the stage will be set on the opposite side of the great pyramid. (ANI)
