Hi, I´m Akhay Kumar. I´m six foot one and weigh 80 kilos, though at times I wish I were two inches taller.

I was born in old Dehli. When I was a child we used to stay in Chandni Chowk, on a street called Parothewali Galli, explains why I can´t resist parothas (comment of the writer: parothas is a sort of Indian bread) even today!

My father worked for UNICEF. Having been a sportsman himself – he was a wrestler in his younger days – he always encouraged me to participate in sports.He used to tell me that if I wasn´t brilliant in studies it was okay, as long as I was selected vice-captain of my school volleyball team.

I have always been very attached to my mother. Even today, whenever she is out of town, I fall ill. When I go for outdoor schedules, I fall ill.
My sister is closest to me. She is the one who knows all my secrets. I have never cried as much as I did the day she got married. Today although she stays in Mumbai, I still miss her a lot and makes sure she lives with us atleast for a few days every month.

His relationship with Shilpa Shetty broke up and in 2001 he married his love Tina (Twinkle Khanna).

Since that time there is no braking in his career and the name "Akshay Kumar" has become a firm component of the Indian film industry.
With each film, he wins the hearts of the public more and more. Movies like "Dosti", "Waqt", "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" and "Bhagam Bhag" are not to be excluded from the collection of a real Bollywood fan any longer.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who has turned script writer with his upcoming dream project 'Veer' says the film has been a stressful experience for him as an actor and writer.

"It was a stressful experience for me. But 'Veer' has shaped up well and I am happy with the final product," Salman told reporters last night at the music launch of the film.

The period flick, set in 1875, is slated for a theatrical release on January 22, 2010.

Salman, who has further toned his body to suit the role, had first conceived the idea of making a movie on the exploits of a Pindari soldier 20 years ago.

Speaking about his new co-star Zarine Khan, Salman said Zarine was a brilliant newcomer as she belongs to the new generation.

Director Anil Sharma disapproved comparisons between Zarine and Katrina Kaif. "It is unfair to compare a newcomer with anybody. By doing this you are belittling the efforts and hard work of a young actor," he said.

Music composers Sajid-Wajid have given the music in the film while Oscar-winning lyricist Gulzar has penned the songs.

Sharma, who had earlier directed 'Gadar', a love story set during the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan, said he was initially apprehensive about Sajid-Wajid.

"They have done a good job of collaborating ethnic Indian music with Western influences to give a contemporary look to the music album.

"Initially, I didn't want to work with them as I felt scoring music for a period film was not their cup of tea. I had even given them the option of getting another composer if I did not like their tunes. Happily, they did not disappoint me," Sharma said.

Sajid and Wajid said the film's script is close to Salman's heart. "It was a great challenge for us because our earlier films with Salman have done well. There was no pressure. Being sincere towards our work and being true to ourselves was important," musician brothers said.

They said they rehearsed on several musical instruments and included them in the tunes.

The rumours of Katrina Kaif calling off her relationship with her long time boyfriend Salman Khan seems to be just a figment of imagination of some idle brains, as they were like inseparable souls at a time when they need each other.

Salman has been with Katrina all the time, as she is not in good health. It is said that Katrina was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after complaining of abdominal pain. She is said to have gone through surgery after being diagnosed with appendix.

Sources said that Salman was in the hospital along with his mother Salma and sisters when the operation was done. Salman even posed for photographs with the hospital staffs after much persistence. It shows that the Khan family considers Katrina as its household.

It may be recalled that Katrina has been in bad health for quite sometime now. She was recently diagnosed with jaundice and low haemoglobin count. Salman Khan, had arrived well in time for the movie to begin, (3 Idiots) and the waiting media and star-gazers turned away disappointed when there seemed to be no sign of Shah Rukh Khan, while hosts for the evening no doubt heaved a sigh of relief. The last time SRK and Sallu met – at Katrina Kaif ’s birthday last year – the birthday girl had been utterly sidelined in the furious exchange of words between the two superstars, and Aamir Khan had spent the night running the short distance between Salman’s house in Galaxy Apartments and SRK’s home Mannat in Mumbai, playing peacemaker.

But never one to back out of awkward situations, Shah Rukh arrived minutes before the film ended and was greeted by Aamir. Just as Shah Rukh moved to talk to director Kunal Kohli, the show ended and out came Salman Khan. Yes, SRK was wet and wrinkled. In the set of My Name Is Khan, the new movie directed by Karan Johar. My Name is Khan is most awaiting movie of recent days, last shooting schedule starting at Filmistan Studio in last week of August.
According to reports for ‘My Name is Khan’ Shahrukh was required to stay in neck-deep water for two days. And everybody knows how the skin becomes when one stays far too long in the water.When Shahrukh emerged out of the water everyone on the sets started calling him ‘Mermaid’. But ever the gentleman Shahrukh didn’t mind it a wee bit and laughed at his own watery get up.
Karan Johar has ordered water proof dresses for the unit of My Name Is Khan, except SRK and Kajol.Karan is anxious, as this will be a difficult and intricate scene. The whole set will be under water for the next few days. This will be one of the most important parts of the film. Karan is very worried about the unit’s health so everyone except for Shahrukh and Kajol will be wearing waterproof costumes, as the lead actors have to be seen in their look for the film. James Cameron (The Master) is back again with his new movie Avatar. It has turned out to be the biggest and best event movie of the year, perhaps the decade. The story is pure Cameron simplicity – a paraplegic ex-marine is given a chance to walk again through the use of a unique alien body, called an Avatar. It is his job to gain the trust of the natives so that a greedy corporation can steal the precious metal from their lush moon. Jake's (Sam Worthington) crippled main character is the perfect point of contact for the audience – not only is he new to the visual delights of Pandora but his disability means that every moment in his Avatar body is one of glorious freedom from the confinement of his chair. When the Corporations intentions become more sinister, Jake must choose between his new found place with the natives and his own race and fight for what he believes in.

Avatar combines parts of Pocahontas and Brave heart with a liberal dose of Space Marines into an epic whole that takes nearly three full hours to unfold. We could criticize that length, the weak story and the hammy dialogue. We could attack its thinly-veiled ecological message or the frankly bizarre spirituality in its second half but honestly nothing can spoil the experience while you are enveloped in it. And a large part of that is down to the brilliant use of 3D – which is both subtle and incredibly effective. Til now, we have been making movies with 3D elements; Avatar is the first truly 3D film and might well prove to be one of the most significant things to happen to blockbuster film-making since Star Wars.

Make no mistake, Avatar is an important film from a technical standpoint but it is also great entertainment. The world of Pandora is a stunning spectacle from scene to scene and as Jake learns more about the Navy the film approaches the kind of light hearted adventure story which has been absent from movie theatres for years. Then the final act explodes into tragedy and desperate action, with the final half hour a blistering life or death struggle that has to be seen to be disbelieved.

Though Cameron waited for a long time, because there was not enough technical support to make a movie like AVATOR. It is Sure that,Over the coming days you will be hearing a lot about Avatar, and some of the critical reaction is bound to focus on its weaknesses in a bid to appear appropriately reserved and objective. But this is not a film to be dissected or examined, rather one to be experienced with a warm crowd, a great sound system, in 3D as you bask in the knowledge that the movie-making master is back!
